What is Aufguss?
Aufguss, from the German word “infusion”, is a traditional multisensory wellness experience that takes place inside a sauna, using a hot, wet towel to raise the temperature. The Aufguss sauna ritual has been expanded upon over the years to include music, lighting, and dance, with Aufgussmeisters performing competitively around the world.
Who performs Aufguss?
An Aufguss master or “Aufgussmeister”, methodically waves a towel to circulate steam throughout the sauna, enhancing heat, adding airflow and educing a deeper state of healing and relaxation. The infusion of water, heat and essential oils create an enriching experience meant to soothe the body, mind and soul.

The Classic Sauna is the warmest room in our KurSpa, sitting at 90°C and rising up by 10°C with the Aufguss ritual. The added heat experienced during this sensational ritual increases adrenaline, leading to an elevated release of endorphins.
